Obadiah is a specialty roastery based in Edinburgh, founded in 2017. The business is built around a defined roasting philosophy: a gentle, lot-by-lot approach designed to express the natural character of each coffee, with clarity, depth and layered complexity as the primary quality markers.

They recommend a minimum 21-day resting period after roast before brewing, which is a notably longer rest than most roasters suggest. Sourcing covers both established and emerging coffee-growing regions, with named producer partners including Daterra in Brazil, Tian Cai in Yunnan and U Sai Wan Maing in Myanmar.

Recent offerings have included Chinese coffees and Rwandan naturals, signalling a willingness to go beyond the standard origin set. They sell online through a seasonal subscription, a volume subscription and curated gift packs, and supply wholesale accounts.

Obadiah is also the sole roastery representing Slayer espresso machines in Scotland and partners with Mahlkonig on grinders.
