Wester Ross Roasters is a family run micro roaster on the shores of Loch Ewe in the north west Highlands, specialising in single origin coffee roasted in small batches. The sourcing rules are set out plainly.

Only beans from farms following organic practices, on the grounds that coffee is one of the most heavily sprayed crops in the world. Beans come from smallholder farms and, where possible, from women coffee farmers, to support gender equality.

Batches are kept small to limit waste, the roaster itself was chosen as the more environmentally friendly option, and everything is packed into fully recyclable bags. Nothing is taken further than medium dark, a decision made for balance in the cup and to retain more of the health benefits lost in darker roasting.

Current coffees include a washed Uganda from the Bukonzo Organic Farmers Co operative Union in the Rwenzori mountains and an organic certified Peru grown by a women's producer group. Coffee is roasted fresh to order and rested before grinding.
